Average Daily Traffic and toll revenue on motorway A4 Katowice-Kraków in 2015Q1-Q3

In 2015Q1-Q3 the Average Daily Traffic (ADT) on the concession section of the A4 Katowice-Kraków motorway amounted to 37,019 vehicles and was higher by 8.1% than the traffic level recorded in the same period of 2014 (34,231 vehicles). In 2015Q1-Q3 toll revenue amounted to PLN 191,747 thousand and was higher by 17.0% than in the same period of 2014 (PLN 163,842 thousand).

As far as cars are concerned, the Average Daily Traffic increased from 28,769 vehicles in 2014Q1-Q3 to 31,095 vehicles in 2015Q1-Q3 (a 8.1% increase). Whereas toll revenue from cars in 2015Q1-Q3 amounted to PLN 133,188 thousand which was higher by 17.4% than in 2014Q1-Q3 (PLN 113,434 thousand). Difference between dynamics of growth of toll revenue as compared to dynamics of growth of Average Daily Traffic for cars is mainly due to the change of toll rates since March 1st, 2015 (from PLN 9 to PLN 10).

As far as trucks are concerned, the Average Daily Traffic increased by approximately 8.5%, i.e. from 5,463 vehicles in 2014Q1-Q3 to 5,924 vehicles in 2015Q1-Q3. Whereas toll revenue from trucks in 2015Q1-Q3 amounted to PLN 58,558 thousand which was higher by 16.2% than in 2014Q1-Q3 (PLN 50,409 thousand). Difference between dynamics of growth of toll revenue as compared to dynamics of growth of Average Daily Traffic for trucks is due to the change of toll rates since March 1st, 2015 (from PLN 15 to PLN 16.5 and from PLN 24.5 to PLN 26.5) as well as differences in the structure of the vehicle categories (different rates are applied depending on the category).

Management Board believes that the positive trend in traffic growth is related to the developments in macroeconomic situation and is also the result of users’ appreciation of high standard of motorway.
