Average Daily Traffic and toll revenue on motorway A4 Katowice-Kraków in 2016

In 2016, the Average Daily Traffic (ADT) on the concession section of the A4 Katowice-Kraków motorway amounted to 40,683 vehicles and was higher by 10.2% than the traffic level recorded in 2015 (36,910 vehicles). In 2016, toll revenue amounted to PLN 287,915 thousand (excluding revenue related to unused subscription coupons) and was higher by 11.7% than in 2015 (PLN 257,674 thousand).

As far as cars are concerned, the Average Daily Traffic increased from 30,922 vehicles in 2015 to 34,069 vehicles in 2016 (a 10.2% increase). In 2016, toll revenue from cars amounted to PLN 199,611 thousand (excluding revenue related to unused subscription coupons), i.e. it was higher by 12.1% than in 2015 (PLN 178,032 thousand). The difference between the dynamics of growth of toll revenue as compared to the dynamics of growth of the Average Daily Traffic of cars is mainly due to the higher toll rates in first two months of 2016, compared to the level of toll rates in first two months of 2015 (change in the toll rate since 1 March 2015, from PLN 9 to PLN 10). As far as trucks are concerned, the Average Daily Traffic increased by approximately 10.5%, i.e. from 5,988 vehicles in 2015 to 6,614 vehicles in 2016. In 2016, toll revenue from trucks amounted to PLN 88,303 thousand, i.e. it was higher by 10.9% than in 2015 (PLN 79,642 thousand). The small difference between the dynamics of growth of toll revenue as compared to the dynamics of growth of the Average Daily Traffic of trucks is due to the higher toll rates in first two months of 2016, compared to the level of toll rates in first two months of 2015 (change in the toll rates since 1 March 2015, from PLN 15 to PLN 16.5 and from PLN 24.5 to PLN 26.5) and to differences in the structure of vehicle categories (various toll rates apply depending on the category).

Management Board believes that the positive trend in traffic growth is related to the developments in macroeconomic situation and is also the result of users’ appreciation of high standard of motorway.
