In 2014, the Average Daily Traffic (ADT) on the concession section of the A4 Katowice-Kraków motorway amounted to 34,001 vehicles and was higher by 7.4% than the traffic level recorded in 2013 (31,645 vehicles). In 2014, toll revenue amounted to PLN 218,145 thousand, and was higher by 7.9% than in 2013 (PLN 202,251 thousand).
As far as cars are concerned, the Average Daily Traffic increased from 26,596 vehicles in 2013 to 28,513 vehicles in 2014 (a 7.2% increase). In 2014, toll revenue from cars amounted to PLN 150,328 thousand, i.e. it was higher by 7.4% than in 2013 (PLN 140,012 thousand).
As far as trucks are concerned, the Average Daily Traffic increased by approximately 8.7%, i.e. from 5,050 vehicles in 2013 to 5,488 vehicles in 2014. In 2014, toll revenue from trucks amounted to PLN 67,817 thousand, i.e. it was higher by 9.0% than in 2013 (PLN 62,239 thousand). A slight difference between the dynamics of growth of toll revenue as compared to the dynamics of growth of the Average Daily Traffic of trucks is due to the change in the traffic structure for particular vehicle category (various toll rates apply depending on the category).
Comparing above mentioned annual dynamics in 2014, with the levels of dynamics at the end of the previous reporting periods in 2014, you may notice a reduction. In the opinion of the Management Board, it was due to the reconstruction of DK94 road (the road that is parallel to A4) on Dąbrowa Górnicza - Sławków section. The reconstruction started in May 2013 and ended in October 2014, thus having additional impact on the dynamics in the first reporting period of 2014.
The Management Board believes that the positive trend of traffic growth is related to the current macroeconomic situation and is also the result of users’ appreciation of high standard of motorway.
