Average Daily Traffic and toll revenue on motorway Katowice-Kraków in 2018H1

In 2018H1 the Average Daily Traffic (ADT) on the concession section of the A4 Katowice-Kraków motorway amounted to 43,145 vehicles and was higher by 5.2% than the traffic level recorded in the same period last year (41,009 vehicles). In 2018H1 toll revenue amounted to PLN 158,128 thousand and was higher by 6.6% than in the same period last year (PLN 148,407 thousand).

As far as cars are concerned, the ADT increased from 34,194 vehicles in 2017H1 to 36,027 vehicles in 2018H1 (5.4% increase). In 2018H1 toll revenue from cars amounted to PLN 104,244 thousand and was higher by 5.3% than in 2017H1 (PLN 99,044 thousand).

As far as trucks are concerned, the ADT increased by 4.4%, i.e. from 6,815 vehicles in 2017H1 to 7,118 vehicles in 2018H1, while toll revenue from trucks in 2018H1 amounted to PLN 53,884 thousand and was higher by 9.2% than in 2017H1 (PLN 49,363 thousand). Difference between dynamics of growth of toll revenue as compared to dynamics of growth of Average Daily Traffic is due to the change of toll rates since March 1, 2017 (from PLN 16.5 to PLN 18 and from PLN 26.5 to PLN 30) and differences in vehicle category structure (depending on the category different toll rates are applicable).

Management Board believes that the positive trend in traffic growth is related to the developments in macroeconomic situation and is also the result of users’ appreciation of high standard of motorway.
