Aktualności EN 6 November 2020

In 2020Q1-Q3 the Average Daily Traffic (ADT) on the concession section of the A4 Katowice-Kraków motorway amounted to 37,382 vehicles and was lower by 19.4% than the traffic level recorded in the same period last year (46,372 vehicles). In 2020Q1-Q3 toll revenue amounted to PLN 212,781 thousand and was lower by 19.2% than in the same period last year (PLN 263,222 thousand).

As far as cars are concerned, the ADT decreased from 39,080 vehicles in 2019Q1-Q3 to 30,825 vehicles in 2020Q1-Q3 (21.1% decrease). In 2020Q1-Q3 toll revenue from cars amounted to PLN 128,185 thousand and was lower by 24.8% than in 2019Q1-Q3 (PLN 170,350 thousand). Difference between dynamics of toll revenue changes as compared to dynamics of Average Daily Traffic changes is due to introduction of preferential toll rates at the beginning of 2020 for all automatic methods of payments.

As far as trucks are concerned, the ADT decreased by 10.1%, i.e. from 7,292 vehicles in 2019Q1-Q3 to 6,557 vehicles in 2020Q1-Q3, while toll revenue from trucks in 2020Q1-Q3 amounted to PLN 84,596 thousand and was lower by 8.9% than in 2019Q1-Q3 (PLN 92,872 thousand). Difference between dynamics of toll revenue changes as compared to dynamics of Average Daily Traffic changes is due to new toll rates applicable since March 1, 2019 (increase from PLN 18 to PLN 20 and from PLN 30 to PLN 35), introduction of preferential toll rates at the beginning of 2020 for automatic methods of payments and differences in vehicle category structure (depending on the category different toll rates are applicable).

The observed in 2020Q1-Q3 compared to 2019Q1-Q3 decreases in traffic and revenues are a consequence of restrictions being introduced by state institutions and bodies, related to social and economic activity, due to the spread of the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus and the number of COVID-19 cases. More information about impact of SARS-CoV-2 and COVID-19 on the activity of Group can be found in Company's special weekly current reports.
