Average Daily Traffic and toll revenues on motorway Katowice-Kraków in 2019Q1

In 2019Q1 the Average Daily Traffic (ADT) on the concession section of the A4 Katowice-Kraków motorway amounted to 41,989 vehicles and was higher by 2.8% than the traffic level recorded in 2018Q1 (40,850 vehicles). In 2019Q1 toll revenue amounted to PLN 78,329 thousand and was higher by 4.5% than in 2018Q1 (PLN 74,921 thousand).

As far as cars are concerned, the ADT increased from 34,006 vehicles in 2018Q1 to 34,889 vehicles in 2019Q1 (2.6% increase), while toll revenue from cars in 2019Q1 amounted to PLN 50,083 thousand and was higher by 2.3% than in 2018Q1 (PLN 48,958 thousand).

As far as trucks are concerned, the ADT increased by 3.7%, i.e. from 6,844 vehicles in 2018Q1 to 7,100 vehicles in 2019Q1, while toll revenue from trucks in 2019Q1 amounted to PLN 28,246 thousand and was higher by 8.8% than in 2018Q1 (PLN 25,963 thousand). Difference between dynamics of growth for ADT as compared to dynamics of growth for toll revenues is due to the differences in the vehicle category structure (depending on the category, different toll rates are applied) and the change of toll rates since March 1, 2019 (depending on the vehicle category from 18 PLN to 20 PLN and from 30 PLN to 35 PLN respectively).

Management Board believes that the positive trend in traffic growth is related to the developments in macroeconomic situation and is also the result of users’ appreciation of high standard of motorway.
