Mysłowice, 7 November 2019 - For the Stalexport Autostrady Capital Group, the first three quarters of this year were marked by higher sales revenue and at the same time lower net profit due to payments to the State Treasury.
In the first three quarters of 2019, the Stalexport Autostrady Capital Group, in comparison to the corresponding period of the previous year, increased its revenue by approx. 4.3% to PLN 266.2 million. The net profit amounted to PLN 46.8 million, which is approx. 68% lower than in the first three quarters of 2018.
The drop in net profit relative to 2018 is a consequence of, among others, payments to the State Treasury arising from the obligations of the concessionaire, Stalexport Autostrada Małopolska S.A., set forth in the Concession Agreement. They constitute State Treasury’s Share in Profit from the A4 motorway Katowice-Kraków project. These calculations are based on the amount of distributed cash, which is calculated after the payment of the project costs and crediting the required reserve accounts.
During the 3 quarters of 2019, the costs related to payments to the State Treasury amounted to PLN 88.8 million.
As regards the traffic intensity on the motorway, it increased by approx. 0.7% compared to the first nine months of 2018 and on average translated into approx. 46.4 thousand vehicles per day. The increase was observed both in terms of passenger cars (0.6%) and trucks (0.8%).
The revenues from toll collection for the aforementioned motorway section amounted to PLN 263.2 million and went up by 4.4% relative to the corresponding period of the previous year, mainly due to changes in the toll fees for trucks from 1 March 2019.
For three quarters of 2019, the number of users of the A4Go electronic toll collection has been increasing systematically. So far, over 35 thousand on-board devices have been issued.
July 2019 was marked by the launch of another toll payment method - so-called videotolling, which enables the user to pass immediately after identification of the licence plate of their vehicle.
At the moment, the electronic transactions on the A4 motorway Katowice-Kraków account for nearly 16% of all transactions.
The most important investments implemented in the past quarters of 2019 were as follows: the modernisation of drainage system, the renovation of bridge structures, as well as the continuation of replacement of the motorway surface, carried out in a manner that allowed to minimise obstacles in driving and keeping two lanes for each direction.
