Traffic level in 1Q 2011: a consistent ADT increase on A4 Motorway Katowice-Kraków

The Average Daily Traffic (ADT) level is still increasing on the managed A4 Katowice – Kraków Motorway section. It was confirmed by monitoring taken in 1Q2011, where the ADT amounted to 28.161 and was by 7,7% higher than in analogical period of the previous year.

The increase is mainly connected with high heavy vehicles traffic dynamics. In this category there was an increase by 15%, i.e. to the level 6.785 vehicles (5.901 in 1Q2010). In the same period the average light vehicles traffic increased to 21.376 vehicles, i.e. by 5,5% (20.259 in 1Q2010).

The maintaining of this positive trend will enable us to present to the shareholders the increase of consolidated income next year – says Mieczysław Skołożyński, Vice-president of the Board. He also adds: One must be conscious of the factors influencing the previous period. I mean here first of all the toll increase implemented from 1 December 2009, which in our opinion was mainly responsible for slight decrease of the traffic at the beginning of 2010. It is also worth remembering that that time Polish businessmen were struggling with the economic slowdown.
